 JourneyNotes November 2009
From Jean................at Journeys
How did it get to be November already? Wasn't it just Labor Day last week? November used to be the month to prepare for and celebrate Thanksgiving. Now it seems that the big box retail sector uses it as an extra four weeks to advertise for Christmas. Yesterday I recoiled when I walked past a national chain to see the outstretched hand of Santa offering new vitamins "for the season". What happened to Thanksgiving? I find it all quite sad.
Many of you who have supported Journeys over the years know that we do not decorate the store for Christmas until Thanksgiving. It has been that way for 20 'seasons'. November is a time of gratitude for me. Being able to say that Journeys has survived this difficult year makes me extremely grateful. Some days I have wondered if we would survive but invariably someone comes through the door on those days who really needed to be at Journeys that day. Or someone tells me how much they enjoy these newsletters. The support goes both ways! Thank you all.
I have a number of events and promotions planned for later this month and into December. Please continue to read my emails so you can take advantage of some sales, the opportunity to help your neighbors and a chance to win gift cards. Al;so follow Journeys on FaceBook where we will have special FB only offers. The fun begins with an offer celebrating Amy Haller's birthday (Nov 8th) which is at the end of this email. Hope to see you at Journeys in November................. Jean
