"Nothing is more memorable than a smell. One scent can be unexpected, momentary and fleeting, yet conjure up a childhood summer beside a lake in the mountains and your memories come in to your own."
I spent most of my summers growing up at Girl Scout Camp in southern New Hampshire. I was even an entrepreneur back then as I won prizes to go to camp for selling the most Girl Scout Cookies in my troop! I loved the scent of the pine needles under the tents, the feel of the cool evening breezes on the skin and the clean crisp smell after a summer rain. We took our kids to the lakes of New Hampshire as they were growing up and then on to my favorite place on earth - the beach. There is nothing that can compare to the smell of the ocean! Once the children grew up and had jobs of their own, we transfered vacation time from the heat of the summer to September. Yet not a July goes by that I do not think about Camp Runnels and scents of New Hampshire.
I just returned from my annual trip to the International New Age Trade Show in Denver and leave tonight for the Atlanta Gift Show. I have traded summer vacation for buying trips. You will start seeing new product arrive each week - the fruits of my labor at the shows. Be sure to read about the Crystal Trunk Show, an annual event now. And don't miss the information on Elizabeth and Win Harper who will visit Pittsburgh for their only time this year, later in July.

Ruby is the stone of passion and heart's desire. Thanks to its intense red color, the Ruby has been associated with blood, fire, heart and passion throughout the millennia. Flower: Larkspur
July's flower, the larkspur (delphinium), conveys a feeling of lightheartedness and levity. Larkspurs can evoke the care-free days of summer we remember from our youth. It was used by Native Americans and European settlers to make blue dye, and it’s believed that the most ancient use of delphinium flowers was for driving away scorpions.
