The heat kicked on this morning in our house! I have really enjoyed the past few weeks of summer weather - days warm enough to wear shorts and nights cool enough to sleep with open windows. In some ways it is sad to see summer end. But, autumn is my very favorite time of year. Growing up in New England I remember how the weather magically changed once Labor Day was over. You could almost smell the change. The days were crisp and bright, the evenings required a sweatshirt. Long sleeves and dark plaids were the order for back to school dresses. Football games, apple cider and magnificent colors on the trees were the norm. I found the return to a familiar routine comforting just as I am sure all parents did.
It has been a long time since I have experienced the back to school rituals with our kids. Amy, who works at Case Western University, now experiences the back-to-school rush as students return to campus and her office gets busy. I am busy scheduling the events, workshops and intuitive counselors as we gear up at Journeys for our fall 'semester'. You will see a complete list for September below. As always there is more information on the website about all of our events. There are also several Save the Date announcements and a special offer for International Angel Day, Sept 12th.
Hal and I head out to South Carolina next week for our annual vacation. We can wait until September to venture to the beach because we no longer have school schedules to worry about. this year both kids and their significant others will join us for a long weekend at the beach. I tell you - I can hardly wait. The weather is still gorgeous and the crowds have left. Kiawah is my ultimate place of serenity, where I go to rest, relax and renew. I leave you in the capable hands of our wonderful staff.
